James Randolph Pruitt

PRUITT, JAMES RANDOLPH James Randolph Pruitt passed away on January 26, 2009, in Los Angeles, CA. He was a life long member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Ensley. Mr. Pruitt taught music at Ramsay High School. When he relocated to Los Angeles in 1985, he taught at Compton Community College. He used his education and God given talents in service at several area churches in Birmingham & Los Angeles. He was a devoted son, father, brother and friend to many during his life's journey. He was preceded in death by his biological father James Randolph Smith, Sr., adoptive parents Lawson and Mary Pruitt, all of Birmingham. Left to cherish his memories are his devoted mother, Thelma Jordan of Inglewood, CA; a sister, and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Homecoming services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on February 4, 2009, at Bethel A.M.E. Church in Los Angeles, CA; Spaulding Mortuary, directing.
